This first exclusive event invited premium clients to deepen their understanding of the <strong>mechanisms of memory<\/strong>, and to discover practical applications to use when designing digital training courses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the online session, we used understandable terms to explore the <strong>key theories of memory<\/strong>, that can be extremely useful throughout the content creation process. Here is an overview of the topics covered:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Voici un aper\u00e7u des points trait\u00e9s :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The <em>Dual-Coding Theor<\/em>y by Allan Paivio: finding out how presenting information in a multi-modal way can promote better memorisation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>Generative Theory of Multimedia Learning<\/em> by Richard Mayer: learning how to apply principles such as contiguity, modality and coherence to maximise learning through well-structured, multi-media content.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>Cognitive Load Theory<\/em> by John Sweller: structuring content to avoid cognitive overload and enabling learners to process information in an optimal way.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>The Forgetting Curve<\/em> by Hermann Ebbinghaus: exploring how the concept of spaced repetition and the testing effect can counteract rapid forgetting of new information.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>The Method of Loci<\/em> (memory palace): familiarisation with this age-old technique that associates concepts with familiar places, thereby facilitating memorisation and recall.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>There were also practical activities to enable participants to experiment with these theories in practical ways, and to better grasp how to boost their learners\u2019 memorisation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Unable to attend the event?<\/span><br>Stay tuned and don\u2019t miss the upcoming Learning Insights sessions \u2013 a great opportunity to keep abreast of pedagogical developments and to build theoretical and practical knowledge about the main theories in education.
