{"id":39950,"date":"2023-06-20T11:00:16","date_gmt":"2023-06-20T09:00:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.teachonmars.com\/?p=39950"},"modified":"2023-06-22T11:44:47","modified_gmt":"2023-06-22T09:44:47","slug":"teach-on-mars-x-le-bahut","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.teachonmars.com\/en\/blog\/2023\/06\/teach-on-mars-x-le-bahut\/","title":{"rendered":"Teach on Mars and Le Bahut \u2013 providing Mobile Learning training for students and more besides\u2026"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><\/h2>\n<h2>Le Bahut \u2013 an innovative school which places an onus on pedagogy and Digital Learning<\/h2>\n<p>Le Bahut was opened in September 2020 in Lyon, France by the team at <a href=\"https:\/\/sydo.fr\/\">Sydo<\/a>, a pedagogical consulting firm.<\/p>\n<p><em>????Top tip from the Academy: <\/em>we recommend you follow <a href=\"https:\/\/sydologie.com\/\">Sydologie<\/a>, Sydo\u2019s magazine about pedagogical developments \u2013 it\u2019s a real gold mine.<\/p>\n<p>With over 15 years of experience in pedagogy, the team decided to open the very first school devoted to digital training course design.<\/p>\n<p>Le Bahut proposes 2 training formats geared towards different profiles:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Short courses<\/strong> to allow employees to quickly acquire the skills they need to design and create effective training courses;<\/li>\n<li><strong>A long course<\/strong>, a one-year work\/study programme (5 weeks at work and 1 week training) to learn to design, create and deploy instructor-lead and remote courses.<br \/>\nOur team worked with students on the long training course.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<h2>Transmission day<\/h2>\n<p>To mark <strong>the 3rd anniversary of its partnership with Le Bahut<\/strong>, the Teach on Mars team was delighted to host <strong>a transmission day<\/strong> with the school\u2019s students.<br \/>\nWe centred the day around three key areas:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Mobile Learning basics<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with the Teach on Mars solution<\/li>\n<li>Course design<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>During the day, we taught 25 students to use the Teach on Mars solution and we guided them through the design process of their on-line course.<\/p>\n<p>To pep up the final part and the deliverable, we asked the students<strong> to come up with a course about the Teach on Mars solution with the following requirements:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Course topic:<\/span> sexist and sexual violence at festivals<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Training target:<\/span> individuals working with the public (reception staff, bar staff, festival volunteers, etc.)<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Course objective:<\/span> to prevent this kind of violence and provide insights on how to act when confronted with it<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Format constraints:\u00a0<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li>training using the Teach on Mars app<\/li>\n<li>using storytelling codes<\/li>\n<li>at least two modules<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<h2>Students deliverables<\/h2>\n<p>Quickly familiar with the solution, in just a few hours, the students managed to create impactful, creative and instructional courses.<\/p>\n<p>Here is an example of a course created by one of the groups to raise learners\u2019 awareness about the notion of sex debt (a feeling of sexual obligation without desire).<\/p>\n<p>The students created a course based on an encounter between two individuals at a bar after initially meeting on Tinder.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The narrative outline was as follows:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Initial situation: the characters discuss on Tinder.<\/li>\n<li>Disruptive factor: they decide to meet up<\/li>\n<li>Actions: meeting in a bar<\/li>\n<li>Disruptive factor 2: the female character wants to go home.<\/li>\n<li>Resolution: at the woman\u2019s home, appropriate behaviour from the male character<\/li>\n<li>Final situation: the two characters each go home without any behaviour undermining the other person\u2019s consent.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The featured activities enhance the story and provide interactivity, for example:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>a mobile course to create the encounter between the two characters with a screen shot of their discussion<\/li>\n<li>a training game with several different situations;
