{"id":39767,"date":"2023-04-26T15:01:08","date_gmt":"2023-04-26T13:01:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.teachonmars.com\/?p=39767"},"modified":"2023-04-26T15:01:08","modified_gmt":"2023-04-26T13:01:08","slug":"mla22-usecase-edumiam","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.teachonmars.com\/en\/blog\/2023\/04\/mla22-usecase-edumiam\/","title":{"rendered":"[Mobile Learning Awards] A spotlight on Edumiam, the winner of the \u201cCSR initiative\u201d \u2013 a good practices guide."},"content":{"rendered":"<hr \/>\n<h1>\u2018CSR INITIATIVE\u2019 PRIZE<\/h1>\n<p>This prize is awarded to a project using Teach on Mars technology which increases learners\u2019 awareness about societal, environmental and ethical issues. 3 criteria are assessed:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Governance and management<\/li>\n<li>Learner experience<\/li>\n<li>Impact<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The project applications were considered by the Teach on Mars jury and three went through to the second round.<br \/>\nIt was Edumiam\u2019s project which finally convinced the professional jury during the final deliberations.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h1>THE WINNER<\/h1>\n<h2>Edumiam<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.edumiam.com\/\">Edumiam<\/a> is a social and solidarity company which provides digital training to support early childhood professionals by supplying them with the resources and training needed to help young children develop their full potential, to ensure equal opportunities.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.edumiam.com\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-39772 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/www.teachonmars.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/1.-logo-edumiam-300x169.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Edumiam &amp; Teach on Mars<\/h2>\n<p>Edumiam\u00a0adopted the Teach on Mars solution in 2020 with a target population of learners composed of early childhood professionals including childminders, child care workers, day-care staff, etc.<\/p>\n<p>The thematic areas include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Preparing for the French Early Childhood Carer Certificate [CAP AEPE]<\/li>\n<li>Early childhood basics (feeding, first aid, management of emotions, etc.);<\/li>\n<li>Supporting children (compassionate communication, supporting children\u2019s artistic and cultural development, etc.);<\/li>\n<li>Disorders and disabilities \u2192 it is this final part which we are now going to review.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h1>THE WINNING INITIATIVE: GOOD PRACTICES<\/h1>\n<h2>Co-creation with experts<\/h2>\n<p>To offer in-app \u2018understanding disability\u2019 expertise, Edumiam enlisted the support of industry experts.<br \/>\nThe project was launched in partnership with 2 associations:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Ikiga\u00ef,<\/strong> which supports children with autism and autism spectrum disorder to facilitate their inclusion by adjusting their school and out-of-school environments.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Gribouilli,<\/strong> a professional child care association, striving to professionalise and promote early childhood professions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This helps to establish thorough expertise in the field of disability and to enhance the courses from a field-based and operational viewpoint.<\/p>\n<h2>Engaging learners through regular monitoring<\/h2>\n<p>To foster learner engagement, individual monitoring was introduced. Weekly in-person meetings were organised with learners in order to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Present the course pathway on the application;<\/li>\n<li>Ensure learners are getting to grips with digital tools;<\/li>\n<li>Provide instructions for the interactive games which can be found throughout the pathway.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cThis meeting was a high point because it enabled us to better grasp learners\u2019 expectations and motivations and really understand their daily working lives. Over long discussions, we forged bonds which could be reactivated throughout the course thanks to the meetings and regular monitoring\u201d.<\/em><br \/>\nThe Edumiam team<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>During the familiarisation stage, learners receive step-by-step guidance with:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A notice of meeting email;<\/li>\n<li>An SMS containing the course access codes;<\/li>\n<li>An onboarding booklet and a presentation video about the Edumiam app;<\/li>\n<li>A phone call to ensure the course has got off to a good start and to answer learners\u2019 questions;<\/li>\n<li>Discussions with a pedagogical coach (mentoring meeting on request).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Discover edumiam in 90 seconds.
