Perfectly adapted to our modern learners\u2019 lives, mobile learning should not however prevent us from exchanging with others, whether it be for stimulating collective intelligence within the group or simply enjoying sharing knowledge and developing together.<\/p>\n<p>It is possible to use mobile learning to transform classroom learning into synchronous training with videoconferences and virtual classes.<\/p>\n<h2>\u00a0<\/h2>\n<h2>Mobile learning \u2014 group or one-to-one videoconferences<\/h2>\n<p>With lessons, appropriation games, quizzes and educational videos all available as part of mobile training, videoconference activities can be used to enable trainers to discuss with learners either face to face or in a group, for a simple discussion or a virtual class.<\/p>\n<p>While communicating with their trainer, learners can navigate through their training course.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-25670 \" src=\"https:\/\/www.teachonmars.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/Classes-virtuelles-mobile-blended-learning.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"656\" height=\"274\" \/><br \/><em>Opening a videoconference activity (Teams) as part of a Teach on Mars mobile learning course<\/em><\/p>\n<p>As well as reconnecting people and fostering communication, varying learning methods by combining moments of synchronous and asynchronous training enables us to create original training experiences and improves learner engagement.<\/p>\n<h2>\u00a0<\/h2>\n<h2>Creating discussion time between trainers and learners<\/h2>\n<p>Whether it be for presenting a course, for evaluations half way through a course or for debriefing after a qualification has been obtained, discussion time between trainers and learners is an important part of a mobile course and should not be overlooked.<\/p>\n<p>The good news is that with digital technology, solutions exist for just about everything. Finding a time slot with the trainer is even easier. When learners get to the synchronous training activity, they can use the application to access a calendar to select an available slot with the trainer, (for example using <a href=\"https:\/\/calendly.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Calendly<\/a>):<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-25675 \" src=\"https:\/\/www.teachonmars.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/calendly-booking.png\" alt=\"Calendly booking page\" width=\"605\" height=\"367\" \/><em>Reserving a time slot with Calendly<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Trainers and learners thus save precious time and receive a confirmation when a time slot has been booked. The slot can be added automatically to calendars on Google Calendar, Outlook, Office 365 and iCloud, etc.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-25680 \" src=\"https:\/\/www.teachonmars.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/calendly-details.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"425\" height=\"237\" \/><em>Timeslot confirmation with Calendly<\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Reminder emails can even be configured for example one day and one hour before the time slot (whose length can also be set by the trainer).<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>A virtual class in mobile learning \u2014 group lessons and activities<\/h2>\n<p>In 2020, lockdown and the rapid expansion of remote working led to a shift from classroom training to synchronous training. Apart from discussions between trainers and learners, it is important to transform training rooms into attractive and flexible virtual classes for learners. With its gamified activities and varied learning methods, mobile learning is a perfectly tailored solution.<\/p>\n<p>Learners go to the virtual class at a time previously agreed (indicated for example in the name of the teaching activity). They can then communicate with the trainer (or simply listen to him or her, as the trainer so wishes), while navigating through the activities of the mobile training course. Some activities can also be specifically dedicated to this virtual class.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-25695 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.teachonmars.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/classe-virtuelle-mobile-learning.png\" alt=\"Ecran de smartphone classe virtuelle mobile learning\" width=\"735\" height=\"420\" \/><em>Reminder for a synchronous virtual class activity<\/em><\/p>\n<p>As we saw in our article on the flipped classroom, the quality of synchronous sessions can be enhanced thanks to previously shared content. During virtual classes, learners can raise questions and discuss points they wish to learn more about. The trainer can thus better guide learners using existing content or by proposing new avenues of thought.<\/p>\n<p>Apart from these direct interactions with the trainer, a group can work together to create various gamified activities \u2014 remotely and synchronously \u2014 with the Live! by Teach on Mars. Up to 100 people can participate simultaneously in brainstorming sessions and competitions (quizzes and games) with medals up for grabs. This is an excellent way to inject enthusiasm into mobile training courses.<\/p>\n<h2>\u00a0<\/h2>\n<h2>Setting up a virtual class as part of a mobile learning course with Teach on Mars<\/h2>\n<p>Nothing could be simpler. Using a \u201cweb link\u201d type activity in your course, you can add a link to an online meeting room (e.g.: Google Meet, Teams, Zoom, Webex, Whereby and so on) or to a time slot booking tool (e.g.: Calendly, see above).<\/p>\n<p>You can create meetings with a fixed date and time or offer different time slots. The only limitations are those of the tools you are using.<\/p>\n<p>At the date and time of the meeting, the trainer opens the meeting room (this is often necessary, especially with Teams, Zoom and Webex) from their computer or smartphone. Learners simply launch the activity to take part. Depending on the tool used, learners can be redirected to download the application (e.g.: Teams, Webex) or enter the meeting directly (e.g.: Google Meet, Whereby).<\/p>\n<p>When everyone is connected, the trainer can ask learners to return to the training application; learners will continue to hear the trainer and will be able to navigate through the mobile course and do activities. Depending on the videoconference tool used and the type of smartphone, learners may even be able to see the trainer in a corner of the mobile screen during navigation on the training application.<\/p>\n<p>It is time to reconnect, to make synchronous and asynchronous techniques live alongside one another and to create unique training experiences to foster learner engagement and develop skills. Trouver un cr\u00e9neau d\u2019\u00e9change avec le formateur est encore plus facile. Le cr\u00e9neau peut \u00eatre ajout\u00e9 automatiquement aux agendas Google Calendar, Outlook, Office 365 et iCloud...\r\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img class=\"aligncenter wp-image-25683 \" src=\"https:\/\/www.teachonmars.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/calendly-details.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"425\" height=\"237\" \/><em>Confirmation de cr\u00e9neau avec Calendly<\/em><\/p>\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Des emails de rappel peuvent m\u00eame \u00eatre configur\u00e9s \u00e0 loisir, par exemple 1 jour avant et une heure avant le cr\u00e9neau (dont la dur\u00e9e est \u00e9galement param\u00e9trable par le formateur).<\/span>\r\n<h2>Une classe virtuelle en mobile learning : des cours et des activit\u00e9s \u00e0 plusieurs<\/h2>\r\nEn 2020, le confinement et l\u2019expansion rapide du t\u00e9l\u00e9travail nous ont pouss\u00e9 \u00e0 transformer la formation pr\u00e9sentielle en formation synchrone. Au-del\u00e0 des \u00e9changes entre formateur et apprenant, il est n\u00e9cessaire de m\u00e9tamorphoser les salles de formation en classes virtuelles attractives et flexibles pour les apprenants. Avec ses activit\u00e9s gamifi\u00e9es et ses modalit\u00e9s p\u00e9dagogiques vari\u00e9es, le mobile learning est une r\u00e9ponse parfaitement adapt\u00e9e.\r\n\r\nLes apprenants se rendent dans la salle de classe virtuelle \u00e0 un horaire pr\u00e9alablement convenu (indiqu\u00e9 par exemple dans le nom de l\u2019activit\u00e9 p\u00e9dagogique). Ils peuvent alors communiquer avec leur formateur (ou simplement l\u2019entendre, selon le choix de celui-ci), tout en naviguant dans les activit\u00e9s du parcours de formation mobile. Lors de la classe virtuelle, les apprenants pourront exposer leurs questions et les points qu'ils souhaitent approfondir. Le formateur pourra ainsi mieux guider les apprenants via les contenus existants ou proposer de nouveaux axes de r\u00e9flexion.\r\n\r\nAu-del\u00e0 des interactions directes avec le formateur, un groupe peut r\u00e9aliser ensemble, en distanciel et en synchrone, diff\u00e9rentes activit\u00e9s gamifi\u00e9es gr\u00e2ce au Live! de Teach on Mars. Il est possible d\u2019impliquer jusqu\u2019\u00e0 100 personnes en m\u00eame temps dans des brainstormings, ou des comp\u00e9titions (quiz, jeux) avec un podium \u00e0 la cl\u00e9. Une excellente option pour dynamiser une formation mobile.\r\n<h2>Mettre en place une classe virtuelle dans un parcours mobile learning avec Teach on Mars<\/h2>\r\nRien de plus simple ! En utilisant dans votre formation une activit\u00e9 de type \u201clien web\u201d, vous pouvez mettre un lien vers une salle de r\u00e9union en ligne (ex: Google Meet, Teams, Zoom, Webex, Whereby ou autre) ou vers un outil de r\u00e9servation de cr\u00e9neau (ex: Calendly, pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 plus haut dans cet article).\r\n\r\nVous pouvez cr\u00e9er des meetings avec date et heure fixe ou proposer diff\u00e9rents cr\u00e9neaux. Il n\u2019y a pas d\u2019autre limite que celles des outils que vous utilisez.\r\n\r\n\u00c0 la date et heure du meeting, le formateur ouvre la salle de r\u00e9union (c\u2019est souvent n\u00e9cessaire, notamment sur Teams, Zoom ou Webex) depuis son ordinateur ou son smartphone. Les apprenants lancent simplement l\u2019activit\u00e9 pour le rejoindre. Selon l\u2019outil utilis\u00e9, l\u2019apprenant peut \u00eatre redirig\u00e9 vers le t\u00e9l\u00e9chargement de l\u2019application (ex: Teams, Webex) ou entrer directement dans le meeting (ex : Google Meet, Whereby).\r\n\r\nLorsque tout le monde est connect\u00e9, le formateur peut demander aux apprenants de revenir vers l\u2019application de formation, ceux-ci continueront de l\u2019entendre et pourront naviguer dans la formation mobile et effectuer des activit\u00e9s.
